The historic first episode of AEW Rampage saw the crowning of a NEW Impact World Champion.
Christian Cage pinned Kenny Omega after using the Killswitch to drive Omega’s head into the seat of an open, uprighted steel chair. That chair was introduced into the match by the Young Bucks.
Dr. Britt Baker held onto the AEW Women’s Championship last night...and she gained some extra muscle. First, Baker used the LockJaw to submit Red Velvet. After the match, Kris Statlander jumped Baker...and that’s when Baker’s new backup was revealed in the form of .
Also on last night’s show, Miro submitted Fuego Del Sol to retain his TNT Championship. But Fuego still got his AEW contract after the match.
Getting back to Omega, things for him could go from bad to worse tonight in Mexico City...at AAA’s biggest show of the year - TripleMania 29!
Omega will defend the AAA Mega Championship against Andrade El Idolo. This is easily the biggest match for Andrade since he left WWE.
The main event is a Mask vs. Hair Match between Psycho Clown and Rey Escorpion.
Also, Impact Knockouts Champ Deonna Purrazzo vs. AAA’s women’s champ Faby Apache in a Title vs. Title “Winner Takes All” match.
The Lucha Brothers defend the AAA Tag Titles in a 3-Way against Hijo Del Vikingo & Laredo Kid...and Black Taurus with a mystery partner.
Plus, the invading force known as La Empresa - Puma King, DMT Azul & Sam Adonis - vs. Team AAA - Chessman, Murder Clown & Pagano.
If you live outside Mexico, this will NOT be an easy show to watch. You’ll need a VPN or some other means.

There was a title change in WWE last night.
KING Nakamura is the new Intercontinental Champion. He pinned Apollo Crews with the Kinshasa on last night’s SmackDown.
Kevin Owens beat Baron Corbin. Later, Corbin stole Big E’s Money In The Bank briefcase.
Also, Rey & Dominik Mysterio beat Dolph Ziggler & Robert Roode...and the Street Profits beat the Alpha Academy.
WWE announced a new match for SummerSlam: Drew McIntyre vs. Jinder Mahal.

New Japan is back in front of live fans in the United States tonight. It’s Resurgence in Los Angeles...with a DOUBLE main event!
Hiroshi Tanahashi challenges Lance Archer for the IWGP United States Championship...and Jay White defends his NEVER Openweight Title against David Finlay.
Also being promoted for the show...Impact Wrestling’s Moose vs. Tomohiro Ishii...the Good Brothers vs. Jon Moxley and a mystery partner...AND just announced for the show: Juice Robinson vs. Hikuleo.
The show will broadcast live on New Japan World but ONLY with Japanese Commentary. If you want English, you’ll need to order the FITE-TV broadcast.
Back in Japan, Stardom has canceled both of its shows scheduled for this weekend...after it says some of its wrestlers had close contact with a person who has COVID-19.
Five matches in the Five Star Grand Prix tournament...and a Goddesses Of Stardom Title match were scheduled for those shows. As of Friday, there’s no word on when or even if they’ll be rescheduled.
Pro-Wrestling NOAH has a big show coming up on Sunday. The main event has GHC National Champion Takashi Sugiura vs. ZERO1 World Heavyweight Champ Masato Tanaka. It’s Title vs. Title, “Winner Takes All”. FITE-TV is carrying the show. It’s also on Wrestle Universe, as usual.
The full card for the NWA’s 73rd Anniversary pay per view was announced on Friday.
Nick Aldis defends the Worlds Heavyweight Championship against Trevor Murdoch. James Storm will challenge Chris Adonis for the National Title. Plus, Mickie James vs. Kylie Ray and a lot more. That pay per view is coming up on Sunday, August 29th.
Jennacide is the latest name announced for Invitational Cup battle royal at the NWA’s Empowerrr pay per view on August 28th.

This weekend’s Ring Of Honor TV has…Max The Impaler vs. Hollidead in a first round match in the ROH women’s title tournament.
