(Kenny Omega’s promotional tour rolls on)

I’m Matt Carlins and this is JUST Pro Wrestling News for Wednesday, December 9, 2020.

New AEW World Champion Kenny Omega and Don Callis devoured the final 15 minutes of Tuesday night’s Impact Wrestling in a segment that provided very few clues about Omega’s future plans. Omega did hint at a future clash with Impact World Champ Rich Swann..as he compared collecting championships to collecting comic books.

(Omega On Impact)

That clip from last night’s Impact Wrestling.

Omega and Callis also teased a “big announcement” on tonight’s AEW Dynamite.

Last night’s Impact included an extended promo for Dynamite featuring Tony Khan and Tony Schiavone. It was staged as a promotional announcement paid for by AEW.

For what it’s worth, last night’s live stream of Impact on Twitch peaked at more than 50,000 viewers. Here’s what else they saw...

Impact Results: AEW footage on Impact. This is clearly an open partnership.
Chris Sabin beat Josh Alexander with a rollup
Brian Myers defeated TJP
Eric Young defeated Cody Deaner
Knockouts Tag Team Title Tournament: Rosemary & Taya Valkyrie defeated Knockouts Champion Deonna Purrazzo & Kimber Lee to advance to the tournament semifinals..when Rosemary pinned Kimber Lee.
Sami Callihan promo...and attacked by Eddie Edwards
Chris Bey & Moose beat Rich Swann & Willie Mack. Bey pinned Mack (Bey will challenge Impact Wrestling Champion Rich Swann Saturday night at Impact Wrestling’s Final Resolution PPV)

Matches added to the Final Resolution card late Tuesday night
Knockouts Title Match: Deonna Purrazzo (c) vs. Rosemary
Eric Young vs. Rhino
Larry D vs. Tommy Dreamer
Tenille Dashwood & Kaleb vs. Eddie Edwards & Alisha

On top of all the Omega drama, tonight’s Dynamite is already loaded. There will be appearances by Sting and Shaquille O’Neal. The Inner Circle MIGHT break up...or maybe not. Also, the Dynamite Diamond Final between MJF and Orange Cassidy. The Young Bucks vs. The Hybrid 2.. And FTR vs. the Varsity Blondes - Brian Pillman Jr and Griff Garrison.

Speaking of the Blondes, they BEAT the Dark Order’s Colt Cabana and Alex Reynolds on last night’s AEW Dark.

Someone who’s been orbiting AEW recently, the NWA Women’s World Champion Thunder Rosa. She successfully defended her title against Priscilla Kelly on last night’s NWA Shockwave.

Tonight’s NXT will have fallout from Sunday’s Takeover Wargames and the return of NXT Champ Finn Balor.

Pat McAfee’s injury update after Wargames - no broken bones! So, good news for him.

The card for Ring of Honor’s Final Battle PPV on December 18th appears to be set. The latest matches announced:
ROH World Tag Team Championships: The Foundation (Jonathan Gresham & Jay Lethal) (c) vs. PCO & Mark Briscoe
ROH Pure Championship: Jonathan Gresham (c) vs. Flip Gordon
Pure Rules tag team match pitting Fred Yehi & Wheeler YUTA against Tracy Williams & Rhett Titus.
MexiSquad (Bandido, Flamita and Rey Horus) will defend their ROH World Six-Man Tag Team Championship against Shane Taylor and the Soldiers of Savagery (Moses and Kaun).
Matt Taven and Mike Bennett will face Vincent and Bateman.
Danhausen will battle Brian Johnson. If Danhausen wins, he gets an ROH contract.

What would it take to lure CM Punk back into pro wrestling? Renee Paquette recently asked him..

(CM Punk comeback clip)

Punk interviewed on Paquette’s “Oral Sessions” podcast.

If you were wondering why Alexa Bliss was not on Raw Monday night, it turns out she, Charlotte Flair and D-Von Dudley are all involved in production of the “Punky Brewster” reboot.

Finally, Code Orange’s theme song for “The Fiend” Bray Wyatt’s is among Google’s top hummed songs of 2020. It’s ranked #26 - right behind “Baby Shark”.
