A veteran investigative reporter and western Pennsylvania native, Brown has worked in local newsrooms around the country, at publications of all types — from the East Oregonian in the cowboy country of Oregon to the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette in Little Rock to Pittsburgh’s alt-weekly, the City Paper.
She is a member of Take the Lead’s 2019 cohort “50 Women Who Can Change the World in Journalism.”
Brown also teaches journalism as an adjunct instructor at Point Park University and is the secretary/treasurer of the Pittsburgh Pro chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists.
