About this Episode
Matt and Steve are talking about this week in sports updates, including:
World Series is over with the Red Sox coming out on top.
The pitching was outstanding from the Sox, so outstanding that the Sox picked up the $15 million option on Chris Sale for next season and signed David Price to a $120 million 4-year deal.
The Dodgers are going to have to make decisions on several of their players such as Machado and Freese.
This was actually one of the lowest rated World Series in the last 10 years.
Steve Pearce was the World Series MVP.
Pearce has been a journey man, starting his career here with the Pirates.
Speaking of the Pirates, they decided to NOT extend offers to Jay Hay and Jung Ho Kang.
Cutch is a free agent.
We will be keeping an eye on him to see where he lands this off season.
WPIAL playoffs are here, and we've got some brackets.
Penguins went on a tear through their Canada swing with wins over Toronto, Edmonton, Calgary, and Vancouver.
Crosby was first star of the week with 5 goals, 7 points total.
The Pens had 23 goals as a team in 4 games.
The Pens came back to town to take on the Islanders who BTW have the best road record in the NHL.
The Islanders handed the Pens a 6-3 loss in a somber moment at the arena.
Matt and Steve recap NCAA action as Pitt Football squeaked out a win over Duke with a final-second 40-yard TD.
Pitt heads to Charlottesville to take on the Cavaliers, which could end up being for first place in the Coastal Conference of the ACC.
Notre Dame had a big blowout win over Navy in San Diego and have moved up to #3 over all.
Northwestern heads into South Bend. Let's hope that we get the Notre Dame that plays hard and finishes a game to show up.
PSU squeaked out a win at Iowa and have fallen to #14 to have Michigan come to Happy Valley.
Again, PSU has been a tail of two teams this season.
After taking a huge loss a couple weeks ago to Iowa St, WVU rebounded with a huge win over Baylor.
WVU has fallen to #12 and head to Texas to take on the Longhorns.
The Steelers had a slow start over the Browns, down 6-0 after the first.
They got it rolling with a 33-18 final.
James Conner had 211 AP yards and 2 TD earning him Offensive Player of the week.
Big Ben has been spreading the ball around, hitting 8 different receivers going 24/36 for 257 yds and 2 TDs
with 1 INT.
We wrap this week's show with some NFL trade deadline updates.
