Riverhounds- the Hounds have started training at Highmark Stadium , currently the hounds have 15 players, average roaster is 23 for USL and have some holes to fill. Coach Bob Lilley said that they were a lil stiff and a lil rough from his vantage point. Coach Lilley said that some of the guys came in tight as a drum but were a lot looser towards the end as they just played. Coach said that they will be Trailing several, players as the hounds are short in the Goalkeeper and Midfielder positions and Centerback has some questions. Sunday 9th the hounds host their first Friendly with Villanova .

PGA Tour- Web Simpson wins the waste Management Phoenix Open at the Stadium Course in Scottsdale AZ this past weekend with a -17 and a Playoff hole over Tony Finau. Web Did card an Ace on #12 Saturday fro his third Ace all time on the 196yd par 3 where he used a 7 iron. This week, the PGA Heads to Pebble Beach for the Pro Am that is an awesome tournament where. Celebrities pare up with PGA Pros. This is where the Pros compete to win on an individual level and as a team with their chosen Celebrity . Watch out for Lefty, he has a knack to win this with his famous Morgan Dollar as his marker that only comes out at this tournament . Also, Lefty won’t accept a Excemption to the US Open if need be. He wants to qualify on his own. currently at #72 in the world snd #60 and up are automatically invited. The rest have to play in or have an exception . The likes of Jack use said exception 8 times. After this week the PGA got to the Genesis Open, WGC Mexico Championship , and the Puerto Open before hitting the FLA Swing.

NCAA Hoops- Top 25. ( pull Stats)

Pitt- had a loss, a quality loss tonight to ND. There Irish win 80-72. Pitt Hasn’t found a complete identity yet with their pattern of win 2 and lose 1 or lose two and win one. Pitt has won when they shouldn’t have and lost when they should have won. Coach Jeff Caple has done wonders with this program which has topped their win total over this season compared to last and has topped their ACC wins this season compared to the last 3. Up coming Pitt has GT, Clemson, VT, and #8 FSU.

PSU- finds themselves back in the top 25 at #22. They had a nice win yesterday over #15 MI State 75-70. PSU has Minnesota , Purdue, and NW coming up before their next ranked team Illinois at #20.

WVU- #13 with a win tonight over Iowa St 76-61. Has been pretty dominant in the big 12. The Eers have Oklahoma , #3 Kansas , #1 Baylor, and TCU coming up. That is a pretty tough schedule , and I suspect that WVU takes at least 1 if not 2 losses coming up.

Bobby Mo- is Second ion the NEC, they had a nice win over Central CT over the weekend , the Colonials have Wagner, Sacred Heart, and Mt St Mary’s coming up.

Dequesne- the Dukes are third in the A10. Took some bad losses 3 in a row, with one of them to #7 Dayton, the Dukes have rebounded with two wins since and have the Bonnies, Fordham, GW, then head to Dayton to take on the Flyers once again .

Penguins- the Pens have been in Florida since Sunday Night and have had some fun times in the sun. The Pens play the Lightning tomorrow night and then the Panthers on Saturday with some more time in FL to have some fun before heading back to Pittsburgh for 4 home games with the Lightning, Habs, Wings, and Leafs. The Trade deadline is looming and we all know that Jim Rutterford will make some kind of move. Its just a matter of what. The team is clicking on all cylinders and looking to make a strong push into the Playoffs .

Pirates- the Pirates truck has headed to Bradenton and Pitchers and Catchers report next week to begin workouts . The team has traded Starling Marte for some guys we won’t be ready for a few seasons. The Pirates have a below 50 million payroll and are projected by many relative sites and sports personalities to finish last in the division if not MLB and have 100 losses or more out of 162 games.

MLB- the Trades have been flying and a big one yesterday with the Boston Red Sox trading Mookie Betts, and David Price to the Dodgers, in Return with OF Alex Verdugo Pitching prospect Brusdar Graterol from the Twins recieve Kenta Meada from the dodgers. Dodgers also trade Joc Pederson OF to Angles for 2b/ss Luis Rengifo. Watch for more MLB Trades before the season kicks off, tho, most won’t be this major. Before we know it, Spring training games will be on TV every day.

Steelers- GM, Kevin Colbert was signed for another year through the 2021 draft. The Steelers have a lot of off season decisions to make especially at the QB Department . There are lots of good if not great QBs out there on the Market . Likes of Jacoby Brisette, Phillip Rivers, Marcus Mariota, Brew Brees, Tom Brady, Ryan Tannehill, to name a-few . Also he Steelers need to look into the draft and fill holes in the Linebacker and D line area as well as RB and WR. Maybe, go get a RB Derrick Henry is the top Free Agent then Melvin Gordon , and AJ Green in the WR area if the price is right.

NFL- Free Agency opens March 18, some players will move before that in trades based on Contracts. But watch out, some big names available (pull List).

MLB- Astros Manager AJ Hinch and GM Jeff Luhnow were released from the team after the MLB investigation into the Sign Stealing scandal of the 2017. NCAA Football National Championship- LSU/Clemson last night. Hell of a game, Joe Burrow was just sick. Thaddeus Moss was rock solid. The LSU D just stood tall. Clemson started off strong, made a good run at it, had the lead twice early, but their Offense was just shut down. Trevor Lawerence who is stuck in college one more year had his first loss in collage last night. The Mega Cast with all the ESPN Channels was awesome.

PGA Tour- the First tournament of the new year was in Hawaii ant the Kapalua Plantation Course. With Justin Thomas winning in extra holes over Patrick Reed. The Playoff was playing the Par 5 18th hole 4 extra times with Xandar Schauffele in the mix for the first playoff hole. Next week we have the Sony Open at the Wal’alae Country Club in Honolulu.

Pitt- took a loss in the opening of Conference play to Wake Forest and Head to UNC tomorrow night. UNC isn’t a ranked team this year but will still be tough game on the road. Pitt Finds themselves 8th in the ACC at 1-2 conference play and 10-4 overall.

PSU- 5th in the Big 10 #20 in the country but took a loss tonight to Rutgers with puts them 2-2 conference and 12-3 overall

Riverhounds- the Hounds won their first Home Playoff game last Saturday huge 7-nil over top of Birmingham Legion. Niko Brett had 4 goals in the match one was a penalty kick. Other goals by Fisher, Dover, and Mertz. This was a complete domination from the Hounds across the state lines. This week the Hounds have have Louisville City coming into town for a 7pm Kickoff at Highmark Stadium . The Previous 2 matches with the Louisville City the Hounds won at home 1-nil and a 0-0 draw in Louisville. Don’t think this can be called a rubber match. With Louisville only being in the league for the last 4 years, the Hounds lead the series 2-0-6 even though Louisville has the last two championships and last 4 appearances in the finals for the eastern conference . The Hounds have never beat Louisville in Pittsburgh , Just at Slugger Field.

PGA Tour- the PGA is on their Asian Swing, Last week was a historic tournament. Tiger played in the ZoZo Championship and Lead from wire to wire for the win. This was his 82nd all time win on the tour and tied Sam Sneed for the all time record. Tiger held off local and hometown and country favorite Haidki Matsuymama at Accordi Golf at Narashino CC out side of tokyo. This week the Tour goes to Sheshan Golf Club in Shanghai China. Off all the interviews I have seen, he still hasn’t said anything about spending, and such. Though, Travis Williams talked about spending and how it starts from the bottom up and compared the Pirates to the teams like the Brewers, A’s, Royals, Indians and such alike. Pitt- women’s Volleyball is #2 in the nation

Pitt Football- took a big loss to the Cains last Saturday in crappy weather 16-12. Pitt didn’t get in the End Zone at all during the game and was relegated to 4 Field Goals one 54yard. Miami got in the end zone twice, and had 1 field goal. missed the 2 point conversion with less than 2 mins in the 4th after the go ahead TD. It was a sloppy game from the get go, not only the weather, but Pitts play on the field. The O wasn’t clicking, and the D was solid, but gave up some splash plays which resulted in points. Next week, Pitt heads south to Atlanta to take on Georgia Tech for a 4 pm kick off.

WVU- two weeks ago WVU got shelled by Oklahoma 52-14. Not much to talk about here, WVU is on a down year. now, it doest help that OK lost to K State this past week to add insult to injury. The Eers head to Baylor #12 this week after their buy.

PSU- Played Michigan ST in Lansing last week and came away with the win 28-7. PSU has been rolling all season and have a bit of a test this week going into Minneapolis to take on #13 the Golden Gophers.

ND- The Irish went to the Big House in Crappy Weather and took a whooping 45-14. It was a bad game all over for the Irish, the Offense couldn't get anything going, no one gained ofer 42 yds, and ND tried spreading the ball around like normal, but that didn’t work at all. The D looked like they were stuck in the mud the whole game they had 2 sacks and ) turnovers . Next week the Irish have VT headed into South Bend.

NHL- Penguins, since last weeks Podcast the Pens had a win on the road in Dallas 3-0 over the Stars with goals from Rust, Kahun, and Tanev. All goals came in the 3rd PD with 10 mins left or less in the game. Last night the Pens had the Filthy Flyers in town and handled them 7-0 with goals from (Pull Game) it was a complete game for the most part except for the Power Play. The Pens have the Oilers coming into town this Saturday for the rare 1 pm game before headed out to Boston for a Monday Night game.

NFL- trade Deadline came and left and the Steelers sat idol with not a lot of picks to give upon and only 3 million available under the salary cap.

Steelers— MNF and the Steelers showed up after they cleaned the buss from the sinkhole in the second QT the team finally arrived after the first 25 mins of not playing. With Mason throwing an INT early in first and the Dolphins turning that into points and added 7 more in the first. Now, fortunately , that was all. The Steelers got a field goal in the second off Boz, and then he missed 54 yd one after that. Riverhounds- the Hounds had a 1-nil win this past Saturday over Saint Louis FC. the hounds last regular season match is this Saturday at Birmingham Legion. The Hounds are currently in First Place in the East . Business isn’t finished, the Hounds need a win or a draw to finish in first or have some help with a loss.

PGA Tour is on the Asian Swing currently. They are in Korea, China, and Japan. Then heading back to North America to Bermuda and Mexico. There will be some big names in these tournaments, just have3 to check the field in each one. Tiger and Phill to play is select tournaments to avoid a big hole in Fedex points.

The hounds are currently in 1st place in the East in the USA and still have a game or two in hand.. the last two games of the regular season are on the rode with this Saturday in St. Louis and in Birmingham. Pirates— Season over since All Star Break. Not officially . Hurdle? Kendal? Serage, Tom Prince.

MLB- Yanks move on over the Twins in a sweep. Dodgers and Nats go to a game 5, As well as Cards and Braves, the Astros and Rays in game 4. (Charlie Morton) 4 Deciding games he has won.

Penguins— this is a new season, Mike Lang Night. Made me tear up. now, Game one, made me mad.. didn’t see game two, but was Happy with the result. Game 3, tonight, feel, concerned Malkin Injured, Rust Injured .

Pitt Football- went to Duke and had shoot out to win 33-30. Pitt is at the Cuse in the Dome on Friday the 18th.

PSU- handled Maryland 59-0 ans last Saturday Purdue 35-7. This week its Iowa in Iowa City which is a tough place to play.. PSU has had some bad loses there. There will be the Iowa City Wave!!!

Riverhounds- last Saturday at Highmark the Hounds finished with a 0-0 draw with Louisville City. The State lines are pretty evenly matched and just looked to be a good defensive game. The Hounds are in 5th currently and are within 3 point of 3rd, and 1 point of 6th. Based on the points it looks as they hounds cant finish lower than 6th baring a complete collapse the hounds have 8 games left in the season, 3 of which are home including this week with the Charleston Battery. A few of the remaining matches are with teams ahead of the Hounds in points.

PGA Tour- the First Tournament of the 2019-2020 PGA Season after a two week off season starts this weekend in West Virginia at the Greenbrier Classic at the Old White TPC Course. There will be a handful of big names but no Rory, Phill, tiger, Ricky and the likes of those guys. Though, John Daly will be there.

Pirates- well the Bucs now have a official losing season with the loss last night to the Giants in San Francisco the Bucs are currently playin the giants, have a get away game tomorrow afternoon then head to Chicago for 3 games This weekend. In related news, Kyle Crick and Vazquez had clubhouse altercation, fined an undisclosed amount by the team and Crick is out for the season due to surgery on a tendon in his throwing hand after throwing punches. Still undisclosed what the altercation was over.

Also, Sad News that former Steeler Sam Davis died at 75. He was a 4 time SB Champ, Davis suffered from Dementia and he has gone blind over the years. Davis stayed in the area since retiring in 1982 and has owned and operated several business in the area.

This week the Steelers traded Josh Dobbs to Jax for a 5th rd pick, they bring LB Jayrone Elliott up from practice Squad, Devin Hodges was added to practice squad after Dobbs trade.

The Seahawks come into Heinz field this Sunday after coming off a come from behind win over the bungles.

Riverhounds- the Hounds had a big 4-0 win North of the border las Saturday in Ottawa over the Fury. The Fury dominated the stat Lines but the hounds capitalized 3 times in the first half and once in the second. This week the hounds have Louisville City coming into Highmark stadium this Saturday at 7pm. The hounds are in a solid 5th position and not far out of the top 3.

PGA Tour- the Tour is on their break between the 2018-19 and the 19-20 seasons. Next weekend is the start of the new season at the Greenbrier Classic. Dustin Johnson did have surgery on his left knee to repair cartilage.

NCAA Football-

Pitt- Virginia came in to town last Saturday and handed the Panthers their first loss of the season 30-14. The Game looked good in the first half 14-13 Pitt, then the Cavilers poured it on in the second with 17 unanswered points. Kenny Pickett went 21/41 185yrds, 1 TD, 1Int. Pitt has a young team, the Panthers are gelling together, but show lack of experience. Ohio University come to Heinz Field on Saturday for an 11 am kickoff. The Bobcats are the top ranked team in the Mac . This is not a walk over game.

WVU- James Madison came into Morgantown with a chip on their shoulder and hung around the whole game. Neil Brown first year head coach for the Mountianeers has a young team and in the Big 12 that doesn’t bode well. Former Pine Richland and Pitt QB Ben DiNucci didn’t have the best debut for James Madison, but are top rated team in Big Sky Conference in the Big South Division. Don’t expect WVU to have a great season as the eers head to Missouri this week.

PSU- Had their highest scoring game since 1991. 79-7 over Idaho. The Nitny Lions put on a show spreading the ball around and having some possible Red Shirts play with the new NCAA Rule. Even Joey Porter JR got in the game for a bit. Penn State has Buffalo coming into Happy Valley this week .

ND- the Irish played Monday Night in Louisville on Monday Night topping the Cardinals 35-17. The first QT was completely back n forth with the QB Option play for both offenses and neither Defense looked strong at that point. The Irish settled down in the second half after taking at 21-14 lead in the locker room. Ian Book Was 14/23, 193 yards, 1 TD, rushing for another and 0 Int. Tony Jones JR 15 carries, 110yds, 1 TD. The Irish looked good after the half and looking for a strong season, ND has a tough schedule as always, but have New Mexico headed into South Bend this Saturday.

MLB- Pirates had a walk off win last night over the Marlins in front of the lowest attended game at PNC Park. The Bucs are just bad, and so are the Marlins.

Riverhounds have their first home playoff game at Highmark Stadium with the Bethlehem Steel.
The Riverhounds finished the season in third in Group A.
The PGA Tour is on their Asian swing, so the matches are live over night and replay during the day.
There are still some big names on the PGA Tour, but not many.
Penguins mark a win in Toronto with Murray in net.

71 had two goals, and Letang also came up with one.

Letang's goal marked the 100th of his career.
It's early, but the Penguins are 3-1-2 with 8 points - placing them a solid 4th in the division.
Boston/Astros was a great series, and the Sox head to the World Series.
David Price had his first career playoff win in 12 tries.
Alex Cora is the first Latino and first first-year manager to go to the World Series.
The Dodgers are up 3-2 as they head back to Miller Park.
In NCAA news, Pitt had a hell of a game with Notre Dame.
Pitt has a buy week and will host Duke when they return.
Notre Dame had a tough game with Pitt and is also in a buy week.
Notre Dame will play the Navy in San Diego.
PSU had a helluva loss to State as Indiana comes to Happy Valley.
WVU saw a bad loss Saturday and plays Baylor.
The NBA season started.
Steelers and Bengals was a back-and-forth game.
The TE got in the game Steelers/Bengals game.
Ben hit 10 different receivers.
The defense didn't look as good as they did over the Falcons but they weren't horrible.
Bell should be back Monday/Tuesday.

The Riverhounds have their last home regular season game with FC Cincinnati.
The Riverhounds will finish in the top 4 in their group.
With their season finish, the Riverhounds have earned a home playoff game.
Will the Riverhounds finish third, or will they move into second for the playoffs.
The Ryder Cup was pretty much one-sided after the day 2 morning session.
Europe rolled to a 17.5-10.5 victory over all.
Europe entered the final day, which was all singles matches, up 10-6.

First off, the Cubs/Brewers was exciting.
The Cubs/Rockies was crazy.
There were lots of chances that the Cubs just didn't capitalize on.
The A’s/Yankees was closer than it looked.
For the NL it looks like Braves/Dodgers, Brewers/Rockies.
AL will be Cleveland/Houston and Yankees/Sox.

The Capitols had a big win!!

Pitt took a hell of a loss to UCF.
Pitt comes back home to take on Syracuse.
Syracuse saw a recent loss to Clemson.
Kansas is headed into Morgantown to take on WVU.
PSU is coming off a big loss to OSU which will screw the rest of their season.
PSU is headed to Lansing to take on Michigan State.
Notre Dame had a helluva game and a real good win over Stanford.
The Irish are headed to Blacksburg to take on Virginia Tech.

The Penguins had a hot week with Phil Kessel's two overtime winning goals coming in at 299 and 300 respectively for his record. It was otherwise Murray's first bad showing.

The MLB World Series game was a wild one. It's the homeruns ever in the playoffs! But, it's all about the pitching and the long ball for Matt and Steve.

College football is going strong. Pitt has an ACC win over Virginia, but was their defense on point for the game? The guys otherwise pay homage to Henderson's punt return touchdown and the passing touchdown by DiNucci. Penn State started off great with Barkley taking the opening kickoff 97 yeards, but then squanders a 15-point lead in the 4th. They drop to #7. Notre Dame was otherwise a total ground game with lots of penalties. They've moved up to the #5 spot, though.

The Steelers are at a 20-15 win-loss record. Juju had 195 yards and one touchdown, but Brown was held in check for the game. Matt and Steve share some additional thoughts as the Steelers head into their buy week.

So, how about that Penguins win in OT with Kessel career goal #299 in OT? The Penguins are making some moves with Casey DeSmith coming up as Murray's backup. In other news, Neimi gets picked up by Florida and the Pens get Sheahan for Wilson in a 5th round.

We can still talk some baseball this week, too with the World Series. Verlander was stud in the ALCS, and the Dodgers get over the hump.

This week's college football round-up has Pitt winning at Duke. DiNucci is 8/18 with 154 yards in the air. Overall, they're looking good. The Virginia Cavaliers come to Heinz Field this week. Turning gears to Penn State, they crushed Michigan this week. Sequan Barkley is still a Heisman hopeful with 108 yards, 2TDs, and 53 yards in the air. McSorley has 282 passing and a TD in the air with 76 on the gournd and 3TDs. They're at OSU this week. Notre Dame lights up USC, and North Carolina State is in South Bend.

Which brings us to Steelers news! Ben is 14/24 with 224 yards and 2TDs. Bell has 35 carries for 134 yards, and Brown and Smith-Schuster with the TD and the Wizard of Boz with 5 field goals. Overall, defense looked good with 2 picks - by Haden and Gay. And, what's up with Bryant's BS? Matt and Steve also take a look at the upcoming game this weekend with the Lions.

This week, Steve and Matt are talking the usual gamut of Pirates, Penguins, and Steelers. They do a recap of last week's predictions and how they each fared. Then it's on to some fantasy football recap. Apparently there is such a thing as poor coaching in fantasy football these days. From there it's on to some MLB news, including an early start to next year's season, and the Espy Awards and the All-Star Game. The guys may be blaming the Pirates' 6 losses since last week on Polanco's jenky leg. It's either that or traded Nicasio's "hold my beer" moment when he faced the Pirates as a St. Louis player. Speaking of trades, the guys wrap up their baseball segment with some McCutcheon trade options and expendable players. From there Matt and Steve talk some Pitt v Penn State game before heading into news about the Penguins. With training camp starting this week, Pittsburgh is favored to win the Stanley Cup again this year - which lands the guys into a fantasy discussion about what they would do if they had a day with the Stanley Cup. Oh, we haven't talked about football yet! The Steelers v Browns game was more worrisome than it should have been. Let's talk about Le'Veon Bell and stupid penalties. But, kudos to TJ Watt for making Defensive Rookie of the Week. Big Ben wins an interesting record this week too, as the winningest QB in Cleveland! But, we can't dismiss Tom Brady. No matter how much you may hate New England, Tom Brady is a damn good QB.
