The Riverhounds finished the season in third in Group A.
The PGA Tour is on their Asian swing, so the matches are live over night and replay during the day.
There are still some big names on the PGA Tour, but not many.

In NCAA news, Pitt had a hell of a game with Notre Dame.
Pitt has a buy week and will host Duke when they return.

PSU had a helluva loss to State as Indiana comes to Happy Valley.
WVU saw a bad loss Saturday and plays Baylor.

The Riverhounds have their last home regular season game with FC Cincinnati.
The Riverhounds will finish in the top 4 in their group.
With their season finish, the Riverhounds have earned a home playoff game.
Will the Riverhounds finish third, or will they move into second for the playoffs.
The Ryder Cup was pretty much one-sided after the day 2 morning session.
Europe rolled to a 17.5-10.5 victory over all.
Europe entered the final day, which was all singles matches, up 10-6.
The PGA 2017-2018 season is over.
The PGA 2018-2019 season starts with the Safeway Open in Napa Valley at the Silverado Resort and Spa.
Not too many big names playing in the tournaments in the near future.
Steve wouldn't be surprised if a few big names snuck into the early PGA 2018-2019 tournaments.
We had 2 playoff games for the MLB division for the first time ever.
First off, the Cubs/Brewers was exciting.
The Cubs/Rockies was crazy.
There were lots of chances that the Cubs just didn't capitalize on.
The A’s/Yankees was closer than it looked.
For the NL it looks like Braves/Dodgers, Brewers/Rockies.
AL will be Cleveland/Houston and Yankees/Sox.

The Capitols had a big win!!

Pitt took a hell of a loss to UCF.
Pitt comes back home to take on Syracuse.
Syracuse saw a recent loss to Clemson.

PSU is headed to Lansing to take on Michigan State.
Notre Dame had a helluva game and a real good win over Stanford.

The Pirates are looking to end on a .500 season.

In NCAA football, Pitt got shelled by PSU with a bad showing.
Pitt has GT coming to town.
PSU has Kent State headed into Happy Valley.
Notre Dame beat Ball State in a game they should have lost based on the stats sheet.

• Jerald Hawkins, the back-up OT, was carried off the field with a ruptured quad. Third pick, Oakafore, is now up for the position.
• Jake McGee also limped off the field with injury.
• Most of the stars of the team (the “Skilled Position Players”) were absent for the second week of OTA’s, but that was no shocker.

• It's the Bryon Nelson Classic at Trinity Forest in Dallas.
  
• The next Big Tournament that's not a major is at Jack's Place in Muirfield Village Golf Club in Columbus.
• PITT softball lost the ACC Championship Game against FSU in dramatic fashion.
• The NHL Playoffs continue with the Caps up 2-1 over Tampa Bay in the series.
• The Vegas And Winnipeg series is 2-1 Vegas.
• Both have been very entertaining to watch.
• On an intersting side note, Chris Kunitz could win his 5th cup and be the 50th Person with 5 Cups.
• Mark Scheifele leads the playoffs with 14 goals (11 of them on the road).
• As for NBA updates, Golden State is up 1-0 over the Rockets, and Boston is up 2-0 over the Cavs.
• The Cavs got manhandled and headed back to Cleveland.
• The Pitt/PSU game is scheduled for September 8th at 8PM.
• It will be the last time the two will play in Hienz Field for the foreseeable future.
• There is still one game at Happy Valley.
• The Pirates took 2 of 3 from the Giants, ruining Cutch's homecoming.
• They came back, taking two from the White Sox.
• The Bullpen is still suspect.
• The offense has hit a stride, but they have been playing struggling teams.
• Do you think that ownership will go out and get some pieces at the trade deadline or after the all-star break if the Pirates are in a good position?
• The boys are currently on pace to win 96 games, and are tied for first in the division, the second best record in the NL, 5th best in all of baseball, and 3rd best home record in the MLB.
• The Pirates are behind the Yanks and Phills.
• The Padres are in town this weekend and are 10 games under .500 as the Bucs are 8 games over.
• Jay-Hay is working out and playing in Altoona with the Curve on Rehab.
• Taillon jokes about peeing on his finger to help it heal quicker.

The Penguins had a hot week with Phil Kessel's two overtime winning goals coming in at 299 and 300 respectively for his record. It was otherwise Murray's first bad showing.

The MLB World Series game was a wild one. It's the homeruns ever in the playoffs! But, it's all about the pitching and the long ball for Matt and Steve.

College football is going strong. Pitt has an ACC win over Virginia, but was their defense on point for the game? The guys otherwise pay homage to Henderson's punt return touchdown and the passing touchdown by DiNucci. Penn State started off great with Barkley taking the opening kickoff 97 yeards, but then squanders a 15-point lead in the 4th. They drop to #7. Notre Dame was otherwise a total ground game with lots of penalties. They've moved up to the #5 spot, though.

The Steelers are at a 20-15 win-loss record. Juju had 195 yards and one touchdown, but Brown was held in check for the game. Matt and Steve share some additional thoughts as the Steelers head into their buy week.

So, how about that Penguins win in OT with Kessel career goal #299 in OT? The Penguins are making some moves with Casey DeSmith coming up as Murray's backup. In other news, Neimi gets picked up by Florida and the Pens get Sheahan for Wilson in a 5th round.

We can still talk some baseball this week, too with the World Series. Verlander was stud in the ALCS, and the Dodgers get over the hump.

This week's college football round-up has Pitt winning at Duke. DiNucci is 8/18 with 154 yards in the air. Overall, they're looking good. The Virginia Cavaliers come to Heinz Field this week. Turning gears to Penn State, they crushed Michigan this week. Sequan Barkley is still a Heisman hopeful with 108 yards, 2TDs, and 53 yards in the air. McSorley has 282 passing and a TD in the air with 76 on the gournd and 3TDs. They're at OSU this week. Notre Dame lights up USC, and North Carolina State is in South Bend.

Which brings us to Steelers news! Ben is 14/24 with 224 yards and 2TDs. Bell has 35 carries for 134 yards, and Brown and Smith-Schuster with the TD and the Wizard of Boz with 5 field goals. Overall, defense looked good with 2 picks - by Haden and Gay. And, what's up with Bryant's BS? Matt and Steve also take a look at the upcoming game this weekend with the Lions.

This week, Steve and Matt are talking the usual gamut of Pirates, Penguins, and Steelers. They do a recap of last week's predictions and how they each fared. Then it's on to some fantasy football recap. Apparently there is such a thing as poor coaching in fantasy football these days. From there it's on to some MLB news, including an early start to next year's season, and the Espy Awards and the All-Star Game. The guys may be blaming the Pirates' 6 losses since last week on Polanco's jenky leg. It's either that or traded Nicasio's "hold my beer" moment when he faced the Pirates as a St. Louis player. Speaking of trades, the guys wrap up their baseball segment with some McCutcheon trade options and expendable players. From there Matt and Steve talk some Pitt v Penn State game before heading into news about the Penguins. With training camp starting this week, Pittsburgh is favored to win the Stanley Cup again this year - which lands the guys into a fantasy discussion about what they would do if they had a day with the Stanley Cup. Oh, we haven't talked about football yet! The Steelers v Browns game was more worrisome than it should have been. Let's talk about Le'Veon Bell and stupid penalties. But, kudos to TJ Watt for making Defensive Rookie of the Week. Big Ben wins an interesting record this week too, as the winningest QB in Cleveland! But, we can't dismiss Tom Brady. No matter how much you may hate New England, Tom Brady is a damn good QB.
