Matt and Steve are talking about this week in sports updates, including:

Riverhounds have their first home playoff game at Highmark Stadium with the Bethlehem Steel.
The Riverhounds finished the season in third in Group A.
The PGA Tour is on their Asian swing, so the matches are live over night and replay during the day.
There are still some big names on the PGA Tour, but not many.
Penguins mark a win in Toronto with Murray in net.

71 had two goals, and Letang also came up with one.

Letang's goal marked the 100th of his career.
It's early, but the Penguins are 3-1-2 with 8 points - placing them a solid 4th in the division.
Boston/Astros was a great series, and the Sox head to the World Series.
David Price had his first career playoff win in 12 tries.
Alex Cora is the first Latino and first first-year manager to go to the World Series.
The Dodgers are up 3-2 as they head back to Miller Park.
In NCAA news, Pitt had a hell of a game with Notre Dame.
Pitt has a buy week and will host Duke when they return.
Notre Dame had a tough game with Pitt and is also in a buy week.
Notre Dame will play the Navy in San Diego.
PSU had a helluva loss to State as Indiana comes to Happy Valley.
WVU saw a bad loss Saturday and plays Baylor.
The NBA season started.
Steelers and Bengals was a back-and-forth game.
The TE got in the game Steelers/Bengals game.
Ben hit 10 different receivers.
The defense didn't look as good as they did over the Falcons but they weren't horrible.
Bell should be back Monday/Tuesday.
Burfict is who he is.

The Riverhounds secured a home game for the playoffs.
The Riverhounds wrapped their season with their last home game in a NIL DRAW.
They played Atlanta U 2 to 1-1 a draw.
The last game of the regular season is at the NY Red Bulls 2.
The Riverhounds are going to end up in the 3rd position going into the playoffs.
In PGA Tour news, the 2018-2019 season is underway.
Kevin Tway won the Safeway Open in Napa Valley.
The tour heads to the far East to Kuala Lumpur on the west course.
Only a few big names are on the move right now, but it's still fun to watch.
We have the Brewers/Dodgers and the Astros/Red Sox in the MLB CS.
This will line up for a great WS division.
Previous division series were one-sided.
Murray is out with a concussion.
MR Wilson is still suspended.
Gritty has been out and about.
The Caps lit up Fleury.
WPIAL run down.
In NCAA news, WVU rolled over Kansas and is #6 headed to Iowa.
PSU had a buy week and now heads to Michigan State.
Pitt had a nice OT win over The Orangeman and head to South Bend to take on the Irish.
Notre Dame picked up a nice win over VT in prime-time with Pitt coming to town.
Steelers had a big win.
It's fantasy football time!

Moving right along, Matt and Steve talk some Steelers updates, including signing news, discount options, updates on who's in and who's out, and an NFL free agency tracker. But, we're still a ways off from NFL season. Know which season we're not far away from? That's right - the Pirates are in spring training. While not perfect, things are looking better as we're about a week out from opening day across the league. Matt and Steve take a look at the problems the Pirates will be facing. We'll give you a hint for the top of that list: It starts with a "P" and rhymes with "Itching." Our crack team of sports enthusiasts is wrapping this week's episode with some Penguins updates. Murray is back, and our power play is still top in the league. But, the Flyers are one point behind and the Caps are four ahead - and, what's up with Columbus sneaking in there?!?! Matt and Steve are keeping it neck-and-neck with their fantasy football picks. With the season quickly wrapping, it's going to be a nail-biter to see who stays on top as teams get ousted from contention! At the top of the show, Matt and Steve share some thoughts on the PIAA Football Championships. From there, it's on to some MLB news as they're talking the future of Giancarlo Stanton, McCutcheon and Cole. In NCAA news, it looks like Baker Mayfield for the Heisman as the Bowl games get started. As for our big-picture Pittsburgh sports options, the Penguins are 1-3 since last week. It looks like Murray will be back soon, though. The Steelers took on the Ravens. Matt and Steve share their recap thoughts, including Ben's 506 yards and 2 TDs. With the Pats up this week, the guys break down their thoughts heading into the game.

Matt and Steve have their Week 8 fantasy results for us before heading into this week's sports talk.

The Penguins had a hot week with Phil Kessel's two overtime winning goals coming in at 299 and 300 respectively for his record. It was otherwise Murray's first bad showing.

The MLB World Series game was a wild one. It's the homeruns ever in the playoffs! But, it's all about the pitching and the long ball for Matt and Steve.

College football is going strong. Pitt has an ACC win over Virginia, but was their defense on point for the game? The guys otherwise pay homage to Henderson's punt return touchdown and the passing touchdown by DiNucci. Penn State started off great with Barkley taking the opening kickoff 97 yeards, but then squanders a 15-point lead in the 4th. They drop to #7. Notre Dame was otherwise a total ground game with lots of penalties. They've moved up to the #5 spot, though.

The Steelers are at a 20-15 win-loss record. Juju had 195 yards and one touchdown, but Brown was held in check for the game. Matt and Steve share some additional thoughts as the Steelers head into their buy week.

Steve is crushing it in this week's fantasy football stats with a stellar 14-1 for the week. Matt? Not so much. But, it's fantasy, right?

So, how about that Penguins win in OT with Kessel career goal #299 in OT? The Penguins are making some moves with Casey DeSmith coming up as Murray's backup. In other news, Neimi gets picked up by Florida and the Pens get Sheahan for Wilson in a 5th round.

We can still talk some baseball this week, too with the World Series. Verlander was stud in the ALCS, and the Dodgers get over the hump.

This week's college football round-up has Pitt winning at Duke. DiNucci is 8/18 with 154 yards in the air. Overall, they're looking good. The Virginia Cavaliers come to Heinz Field this week. Turning gears to Penn State, they crushed Michigan this week. Sequan Barkley is still a Heisman hopeful with 108 yards, 2TDs, and 53 yards in the air. McSorley has 282 passing and a TD in the air with 76 on the gournd and 3TDs. They're at OSU this week. Notre Dame lights up USC, and North Carolina State is in South Bend.

Which brings us to Steelers news! Ben is 14/24 with 224 yards and 2TDs. Bell has 35 carries for 134 yards, and Brown and Smith-Schuster with the TD and the Wizard of Boz with 5 field goals. Overall, defense looked good with 2 picks - by Haden and Gay. And, what's up with Bryant's BS? Matt and Steve also take a look at the upcoming game this weekend with the Lions.

Steve has pulled ahead of Matt in this week's fantasy round-up with a 9-5 (versus Matt's 5-9) and it pulls him ahead in the season standings (by one). Now that we're out of the fantasy realm, the guys touch upon Aaron Rodgers news, and the potential that he may be out for the season. From there, it's a WPIAL catch-up! (p.s. Pine Richland is currently standing at number 16 in the nation. Not bad, boys. Not bad.) As for the college football picture, Pitt takes another loss as North Carolina State exploded in the second. PSU moves up to #2. With a buy week, they're hosting Michigan.

In case you missed it, the Penguins beat the Caps! Matt and Steve have some thoughts on that. They've also got some things to say about Ian Cole losing three teeth and undergoing surgery, before turning things over to some NFL recaps. Steelers v Kansas City may have been a tough game, but the guys round out this week's episode with some Cincinnati chat and accusations about some dirty D.
