• The US is favored to win the Ryder Cup this year.

• The Pirates are nearing the end of the season.
• As the Pirates look at the end of the season, they are (at the time of this recording)are over .500.
• The rest of the MLB is headed to post-season.
• The AL is set on its playoff seeding, and the NL is far from over with teams very tight down to the end.
• The Penguins are approaching their home opener, and season opener, with the Caps coming to PPG Paints arena.
• The Caps have their banner raising at home.
• The Flyers added a mascot.
• After a good win at home over Georgia Tech, the Pitt Panthers had a seesaw game in Chapel Hill.
• Pitt had a 3-point loss to the Tar Heels to give them a 2-2 overall and 1-1 conference record.
• Pitt heads to UCF in Orlando.
• PSU is currently ranked #9.
• PSU had two commanding wins over Kent and Illinois, respectively.
• Ohio State is headed into Happy Valley for College Game Day on ESPN against PSU.
• WVU is 3-0 and leading the Big 12 with some commanding wins.
• The Mountaineers head down to Texas to take on the Red Raiders at Texas Tech.
• Notre Dame had a commanding win over Wake Forest and are 4-0 overall despite a few scary wins over Ball State and Vanderbilt.
• Stanford heads to South Bend.
• Watch out for RD Tony Jones, Jr. He will remind you of a guy that also wore #6 at that position.
• Steelers had a shitty game with the Chiefs, and a lot better game at Tampa.

In MLB news, the AL West and NL West are the hot divisions to be keeping an eye on.
NL Central is a flip-flop of the Cubs and Brewers.
The Pirates had a 7-game winning streak before running into the Cards.
The Pirates held off a sweep.
With the rain out, the Buccos WILL get to play in October.
The Pirates are looking to end on a .500 season.
NHL camps start.
In NCAA football, Pitt got shelled by PSU with a bad showing.
Pitt has GT coming to town.
PSU has Kent State headed into Happy Valley.
Notre Dame beat Ball State in a game they should have lost based on the stats sheet.
Thank God for running backs and a bad run block defense from Ball State.
Games are postponed due to a hurricane.
The Steelers looked like POOOOO!!!!

• This week is the St Jude Classic at TPC Southward in Memphis TN, then the next tournament is the second Major of the year, the US Open at Shinnecock Hills in South Hampton NY.
• The Knights are down 3-1 to the Caps and are headed back to Vegas for game 5.
• Good news, the Knights haven't lost 4 games in a row all year. Bad news, only 1 team has come back from 3-1 to win the cup (Leafs in 1939).
• The Caps have been clicking on all cylinders.
• The Great 8 has been getting his shots and a few goals.
• Hate to say that it looks like the Caps' year.

• The first game went to overtime, and Lebron had some issues with it.
• Hill made the tying free throw and missed the second with 5 seconds left on the clock.
• Cleveland passed the ball around and looked like they were playing keep-away to protect a win they didn't have.
• On the replay, JR Smith said he thought they were ahead.
• In OT the Warriors go on a 7-0 run, and end up with Klay Thomson ejected and the Cavs losing.
• Steelers' OTAs continue and the rookies are getting to learn the play book and figure out their exact positions.
• Jerald Hawkins, the back-up OT, was carried off the field with a ruptured quad. Third pick, Oakafore, is now up for the position.
• Jake McGee also limped off the field with injury.
• Most of the stars of the team (the “Skilled Position Players”) were absent for the second week of OTA’s, but that was no shocker.
• 1978 throwbacks.
• The Pirates lost 2 of 3 to the Reds, 2 of 3 to the Cards, and 2 of 3 to the Cubs with some drama on the base pads in the Cubs series.
• The Buccos are still above 500 by 2 games and 6.5 back in the division.
• The offense was solid, Polanco had a 3-hit night.
• Cervele and Bell went yard, but Vasquez gave up the winning HR in the 9th.
• The Pirates sitting Austin Medows when Marte came back over Polanco might be a mistake.
• The bullpen is suspect, and the offense has cooled a bit with some brained moves on the base pads.
