<description>Matt and Steve are talking about this week in sports updates, including:
The Riverhounds have their last home regular season game with FC Cincinnati.
The Riverhounds will finish in the top 4 in their group.
With their season finish, the Riverhounds have earned a home playoff game.
Will the Riverhounds finish third, or will they move into second for the playoffs.
The Ryder Cup was pretty much one-sided after the day 2 morning session.
Europe rolled to a 17.5-10.5 victory over all.
Europe entered the final day, which was all singles matches, up 10-6.
The PGA 2017-2018 season is over.
The PGA 2018-2019 season starts with the Safeway Open in Napa Valley at the Silverado Resort and Spa.
Not too many big names playing in the tournaments in the near future.
Steve wouldn't be surprised if a few big names snuck into the early PGA 2018-2019 tournaments.
We had 2 playoff games for the MLB division for the first time ever.
First off, the Cubs/Brewers was exciting.
The Cubs/Rockies was crazy.
There were lots of chances that the Cubs just didn't capitalize on.
The A’s/Yankees was closer than it looked.
For the NL it looks like Braves/Dodgers, Brewers/Rockies.
AL will be Cleveland/Houston and Yankees/Sox.
Tom Willson hits 20 games.
Scott Hartnell retires.
The Capitols had a big win!!
Penguins season is officially started!
Pitt took a hell of a loss to UCF.
Pitt comes back home to take on Syracuse.
Syracuse saw a recent loss to Clemson.
Kansas is headed into Morgantown to take on WVU.
PSU is coming off a big loss to OSU which will screw the rest of their season.
PSU is headed to Lansing to take on Michigan State.
Notre Dame had a helluva game and a real good win over Stanford.
The Irish are headed to Blacksburg to take on Virginia Tech.
Steelers.

<description>Matt and Steve are talking about this week in sports updates, including:
We've got a Riverhounds update since the last episode.
The Riverhounds are nearing the end of regular season before the playoffs start.
Matt gives an update on where the Riverhounds sit in standings as they near the end of the season.
In PGA Tour news, Tiger Woods had the lead from day one of the final PGA event of the 2018 season.
The focus during the PGA final event was on Tiger Woods claiming his 80th career victory.
Justin Rose won the FedEx Cup in the most watched final round of the Tour Championship ever.
The focus turns to France and the Albatros Course at Le Golf National in Guyancourt outside of Paris for the Ryder Cup.
The US is favored to win the Ryder Cup this year.
Because the Ryder Cup is in France, coverage is during the wee hours when most people in the US are sleeping.
The Pirates are nearing the end of the season.
As the Pirates look at the end of the season, they are (at the time of this recording)are over .500.
The rest of the MLB is headed to post-season.
The AL is set on its playoff seeding, and the NL is far from over with teams very tight down to the end.
The Penguins are approaching their home opener, and season opener, with the Caps coming to PPG Paints arena.
The Caps have their banner raising at home.
The Flyers added a mascot.
After a good win at home over Georgia Tech, the Pitt Panthers had a seesaw game in Chapel Hill.
Pitt had a 3-point loss to the Tar Heels to give them a 2-2 overall and 1-1 conference record.
Pitt heads to UCF in Orlando.
PSU is currently ranked #9.
PSU had two commanding wins over Kent and Illinois, respectively.
Ohio State is headed into Happy Valley for College Game Day on ESPN against PSU.
WVU is 3-0 and leading the Big 12 with some commanding wins.
The Mountaineers head down to Texas to take on the Red Raiders at Texas Tech.
Notre Dame had a commanding win over Wake Forest and are 4-0 overall despite a few scary wins over Ball State and Vanderbilt.
Stanford heads to South Bend.
Watch out for RD Tony Jones, Jr. He will remind you of a guy that also wore #6 at that position.
Steelers had a shitty game with the Chiefs, and a lot better game at Tampa.

<description>Matt and Steve are talking about this week in sports updates, including:
Riverhounds got a win 2-1 over Richmond Kickers.
Goals from Neco Brett and Romeo Parkes.
The Riverhounds were down 1-0 after the first half and came back with the 2 goals
after 20 shots in the second half.
Richmond only had 3 shots and all were in the first half.
The Riverhounds have a bit of a break until June 16th at the NY Red Bulls.
R.I.P. Dwight Clark - known for the catch in NFC title game over the Cowboys in 1981 that was
the start of 4 championships in the 80’s.
He passed from ALS.
Clark had 2 Pro Bowl appearances, 2 Super Bowl rings as a player, and is still 3rd on the list of Niners receiving yards of 6,750 4th in receptions with 506 and 7th in TD’s with 48.
In 87, Clark moved to the front office where he earned 3 more rings as an executive with the Niners.
In 1999 he joined the Browns in an executive role.
In PGA Tour news, Bryson DeChambeau wins the Memorial at Murifield Village “Jacks Place” in
Columbus in a 2-hole playoff.
Tiger made a charge, but came up short, as well as Rory McLlory, Justin Rose, Dustin Johnson, and Lefty.
This week is the St Jude Classic at TPC Southward in Memphis TN, then the next tournament is the second Major of the year, the US Open at Shinnecock Hills in South Hampton NY.
The Knights are down 3-1 to the Caps and are headed back to Vegas for game 5.
Good news, the Knights haven't lost 4 games in a row all year. Bad news, only 1 team has come back from 3-1 to win the cup (Leafs in 1939).
The Caps have been clicking on all cylinders.
The Great 8 has been getting his shots and a few goals.
Hate to say that it looks like the Caps' year.
The whole Caps high-power offense is on fire.
The Cavs and Warriors head to Cleveland for games 3 and 4.
The Cavs are down 2-0 to Golden State.
We talked game one last week on how it had a wild ending. Game 2 was all Warriors and the Cavs really didn't have a chance.
Steve gives his theory on this series.
Steeler OTA’s are just about over.
The players and coaches know what needs to be worked on.
Paul Zise Article.
Pirates have lost 17 of 24 and almost had a NONO tossed on them from Waka in St Louis.
Meadows got to start in Center, but Polanco was still in the lineup.
The Bucs are now .500 at 30-30 but found their way there the wrong way.
Jung Ho Kang is doing well in Florida and looking to make a return this season. There is still no timetable for his return.
Bruce Keson R.I.P
Florida St wins Womens' Softball Championship.
Max Scherzer is the first to 10 wins this season. 13 Ks in 8 innings and had a perfect inning.
Nothing has happened with the Penguins.
Kessel trade rumors are flying.

<description>Matt and Steve are talking about this week in sports updates, including:
The Riverhounds took its first USL loss of the season 1-0 to Nashville, but had a 0-0 tie with Penn FC after.
The Riverhounds returned home for the weekend with the Richmond Kickers.
Pitt Baseball made it to the Final 4 of the ACC tournament, but lost to Louisville.
It seems that the ACC has elevated PITT in smaller non-mainstream collegiate athletics.
Mark Madden wrote an article on Sullivan and Kessel.
In PGA news, it's the last week in the Forth Worth Invitational.
Justin Rose won with a -20.
Steve got to check out some of the Memorial at Muirfield Village “Jack's Place”
It's fun to see the pros do some of the same things Steve does.
The NHL Stanley Cup Finals!
Game one went to the Knights with a back-and-forth game with a 6-4 final, and game two went to the Caps 3-2.
Tom Wilson of the Caps had a few questionable hits in game one - especially the one on Jonathan Marchessault.
Ryan Reaves' punch to the nose in front of the Caps net in game two sent a message to the not-so-nice Wilson.
The NBA Finals started. It's the 4th straight year of the Warriors and Cavs in the final.
The first game went to overtime, and Lebron had some issues with it.
Hill made the tying free throw and missed the second with 5 seconds left on the clock.
Cleveland passed the ball around and looked like they were playing keep-away to protect a win they didn't have.
On the replay, JR Smith said he thought they were ahead.
In OT the Warriors go on a 7-0 run, and end up with Klay Thomson ejected and the Cavs losing.
Steelers' OTAs continue and the rookies are getting to learn the play book and figure out their exact positions.
Jerald Hawkins, the back-up OT, was carried off the field with a ruptured quad. Third pick, Oakafore, is now up for the position.
Jake McGee also limped off the field with injury.
Most of the stars of the team (the “Skilled Position Players”) were absent for the second week of OTA’s, but that was no shocker.
1978 throwbacks.
The Pirates lost 2 of 3 to the Reds, 2 of 3 to the Cards, and 2 of 3 to the Cubs with some
drama on the base pads in the Cubs series.
The Buccos are still above 500 by 2 games and 6.5 back in the division.
The offense was solid, Polanco had a 3-hit night.
Cervele and Bell went yard, but Vasquez gave up the winning HR in the 9th.
The Pirates sitting Austin Medows when Marte came back over Polanco might be a mistake.
The bullpen is suspect, and the offense has cooled a bit with some brained moves on the base pads.

<description>Matt and Steve are talking about this week in sports updates, including:
The Riverhounds tied 2-2 with the Tampa Bay Rowdies.
They took on FC Cincinnati in The US Open Cup and ended in a 3-1 loss.
The Riverhounds are on the road to face Penn FC.
Pittsburgh is currently in 4th place with a 9, 12, 5, 17 record.
F Romeo Parkes was named to USL Team of the Week after his first goal of the season.
The PGA played at Trinity Forest Golf Club in Dallas for the Bryon Nelson Classic.
21-year-old Aaron Wise (South African) took home 1.39 Million and his first win on the PGA Tour.
Wise's mom travels with him and when he was in the lead after day 3 he had to make her leave the room during the 4-hr rain delay prior to his Tee Time.
His final score was -23 for the tournament.
It's time for the Fort Worth Inv. at the Colonial Course in Texas as we're gearing up for the Memorial at Muirfield Village in Columbus.
The Preakness Stakes at Pimlico Race Course in Baltimore was a rainy, foggy, muddy mess with Justify by a 1/2 length to win.
Bob Baffert (Trainer) is on his bid for his second Triple Crown at the Belmont Stakes in Belmont Park.
American Pharoah ended the 37-year drought three years ago.
Baffert is now tied with 14 triple crown wins as a trainer and could only be the second trainer to have 2 Triple Crown winners.
Belmont is the longest of the 3 races and is the hardest to win.
The Vegas Golden Knights move on to the Stanley Cup Final over the Winnipeg Jets.
The Caps/Lightning had a very exciting game 7 with the Caps moving on to the final.
Of course Pittsburgh is with the Knights mainly because of Fleury, but some other former Pens are on the team as well.
Football OTAs have begun and the vets are meeting the rookies and invited free agents for the first time.
There is no sign of Lev Bell, and we don't expect him 'til after camp.
They have until July 15th to reach a long-term deal.
These are voluntary to attend.
Nashville is selected to host the 2019 NFL Draft, and Arizona is selected to hold Super Bowl LVII and New Orleans to host Super Bowl LVIII.
Rodger Goodell and the NFL have implemented the new standard and rule regarding the national anthem.
All personnel on the field during ceremonies must stand and show respect for the anthem, and if they choose not to stand they are able to stay in the locker room or like area off the field for the opening ceremonies.
If anyone doesn't stand and show respect for the anthem, the organization will be fined.
Each organization can make its own work rule regarding the situation.
The commissioner will impose appropriate discipline on league personnel who do not stand and show respect.
Does this still leave open what is considered respect or disrespect?
The Buccos have dropped 3 in a row to the Padres, and 1 to the Reds and pulled out an extra inning win.
The Bucs have been beating the teams that they should, until now.
The
bullpen is still suspect, but the offense has cooled off.
The Bucs were in first place for a day or so, but are now 3 games back in the division.
The NL Central is one of the weakest divisions in the MLB.
The much awaited call-up of Austin Meadows has been worth the wait. he is 5-11 with 2 homers.
Manager, Clint Hurdle, says he is being aggressive, seeing pitches. Clint summed it up in two words: Visualization and Confidence.

<description>Matt and Steve are talking about this week in sports updates, including:
The Riverhounds tied Indy Eleven nil-nil and won 2-1 over Eire Commodores.
The Tampa Bay Rowdies come to Highmark Stadium.
With the win in the US Open Cup the Hounds get a home Cup game facing the winner of Cincy FC of the (USL) or Detroit City FC of the (NPSL).
In PGA Tour news, Web Simpson hits a -18 total and wins the 5th Major of The Players even shooting 1 over in the final round.
Tiger made a hell of a run in Day 3 and again in Day 4, but had early tee times both days.
Tiger Woods finished T11 but was as high as second.
We saw some super groups the first two-day pairings of Mickelson, Tiger, and Fowler, and the other of Spieth, Rory, and Justin Thomas.
It's the Bryon Nelson Classic at Trinity Forest in Dallas.
The next Big Tournament that's not a major is at Jack's Place in Muirfield Village Golf Club in Columbus.
PITT softball lost the ACC Championship Game against FSU in dramatic fashion.
The NHL Playoffs continue with the Caps up 2-1 over Tampa Bay in the series.
The Vegas And Winnipeg series is 2-1 Vegas.
Both have been very entertaining to watch.
On an intersting side note, Chris Kunitz could win his 5th cup and be the 50th Person with 5 Cups.
Mark Scheifele leads the playoffs with 14 goals (11 of them on the road).
As for NBA updates, Golden State is up 1-0 over the Rockets, and Boston is up 2-0 over the Cavs.
The Cavs got manhandled and headed back to Cleveland.
The Pitt/PSU game is scheduled for September 8th at 8PM.
It will be the last time the two will play in Hienz Field for the foreseeable future.
There is still one game at Happy Valley.
The Pirates took 2 of 3 from the Giants, ruining Cutch's homecoming.
They came back, taking two from the White Sox.
The Bullpen is still suspect.
The offense has hit a stride, but they have been playing struggling teams.
Do you think that ownership will go out and get some pieces at the trade deadline or after the all-star break if the Pirates are in a good position?
The boys are currently on pace to win 96 games, and are tied for first in the division, the second best record in the NL, 5th best in all of baseball, and 3rd best home record in the MLB.
The Pirates are behind the Yanks and Phills.
The Padres are in town this weekend and are 10 games under .500 as the Bucs are 8 games over.
Jay-Hay is working out and playing in Altoona with the Curve on Rehab.
Taillon jokes about peeing on his finger to help it heal quicker.

<description>Matt and Steve are talking about this week in sports updates, including:
River Hounds Defeated Toronto FC 2 last weekend 2-1.
F Neco Brett has been named to the USL Team of the week.
Indy Eleven Professional come to Highmark Stadium.
2 for 1 tickets for Mother's Day #MomsOnTheMon.
Next week on Wednesday the 16th the U.S. Open Cup begins in Eire against the Commodores FC.
The Riverhounds in 3rd place in Group A with 7MP, 10GF, 3GA, 15 points.
In MLB news, the Yankees/Red Sox game saw the Yanks win 17 of 18. They are tied for first place in the AL East with their 5 come-from-behind-wins this season.
In other words, it's a typical Sox/Yanks series with a 4 hr game, and a battle from
the beginning.
Both teams are at .714% for wins, which is unheard of in baseball this time of year.
It was a no-hitter in Cananda for Seattle.
Jame Paxton throws 3rd NoNo in third country, this time being attacked by a Bald Eagle.
Jason Day won the Wells Fargo Championship at Quail Hollow Golf Course with a -12 in the warm-up to The Players at TPC Sawgrass in Jax FL.
Mickelson and Woods are paired together on Day 1 at 1:52pm.
Speith, Mcllroy and D.J. with other notables in the AM as well as some in the PM.
The Pirates had a big come-from-behind win in Chicago playing the White Sox.
They also won 10-6 over the W Sox.
Both wins were come-from-behind in the 9th.
The Bucs are winning against the teams they should be and taking a shelling against the teams they should be.
The team isn't bad. They need tweaked in the bullpen and the offense needs to be more consistent.
Cutch comes home for the weekend. I believe that he will have a super warm welcome.
The NBA Confrence Finals are set with Cleveland and Boston in the east and Golden State and
Houston.
In NHL news, there is a Game 7 between Nashville and Winnipeg, with the Vegas
Golden Knights awaiting the winner.
The Crapitols and Lightning are in the east Finals.
Steve's Penguins Beard is gone.
The Pens played their best.
Kessel has played most of the second half of the season and all the playoffs with injury.
Brassard got injured in the last week of the season and spent all playoffs also playing with injury.
The Caps played a hell of a series and their D was tough.
The Pens D, mainly Letang, made some dumb plays, and the Caps played better.
I'm mad, but not upset. For over 1000 days the Pens were Champions!!!

<description>Matt and Steve are talking about this week in sports updates, including:
Riverhounds won last Saturday over Atlanta and are un beaten at home.
Tobi Adewole numbered to USL team of the week after a 1-nil win.
The Hounds have Toronto FC 2 coming to Highmark Stadium.
In PGA Tour news, Scott Piercy won the Zurich Classic at TPC Louisiana in a playoff with Billy Horschel.
The Wells Fargo Championship has kicked off and is the warm up for The Players Championship that will be at TPC Sawgrass in Jacksonville.
The NFL Draft has some interesting updates. Notably: Terrell Edmunds S VT, James Washington WRA OK ST, Mason Rudolph QB OK ST, Chucks Okorafor OT WEST MICH, Marcus Allen S PSU, Jaylen Samuels RB NC ST, Joshua Frazier DT Alabama. Steelers Draft Picks.
The Buccos have been having a time with the Nationals just beating up the Black 'n Gold with double digit run totals.
Though it’s early in the season, the Bucs are 1.5 games back and 17-14.
Jung-Ho Kang has obtained his work visa and is expected to return to the US and has
reported to Pirate City. He will have his pshyical and will begin an expedited spring training.
There is no time table to return to the big club, but is expected to join the bucs at some point.
He is on the restricted list and does not receive salary or service time.
MLB or the Pirates will not discipline him any more, but non compliance with treatment programs will will trigger further discipline.
As for the Penguins, Tom Wilson suspended 3 games due to hit on Aston-Reese.
A late goal from Ovi pushes the Caps to win in game 3.
The defense is letting the puck through, and offense has looked to be too pretty.
Game 4.

<description>Steve has pulled ahead of Matt in this week's fantasy round-up with a 9-5 (versus Matt's 5-9) and it pulls him ahead in the season standings (by one). Now that we're out of the fantasy realm, the guys touch upon Aaron Rodgers news, and the potential that he may be out for the season. From there, it's a WPIAL catch-up! (p.s. Pine Richland is currently standing at number 16 in the nation. Not bad, boys. Not bad.) As for the college football picture, Pitt takes another loss as North Carolina State exploded in the second. PSU moves up to #2. With a buy week, they're hosting Michigan.
In case you missed it, the Penguins beat the Caps! Matt and Steve have some thoughts on that. They've also got some things to say about Ian Cole losing three teeth and undergoing surgery, before turning things over to some NFL recaps. Steelers v Kansas City may have been a tough game, but the guys round out this week's episode with some Cincinnati chat and accusations about some dirty D.
As they do, the guys wrap up this week's show with some BOLD predictions about NFL - Week 8.

<itunes:subtitle>It's time, once again, for your weekly Pittsburgh sports updates! <description>As they do, Matt and Steve recap their current standings in fantasy football. Though they're still running neck-and-neck, Matt took a lead in this week's results. With the recap under our belts, it's time to move to some MLB updates - with a recap of the current standings. As for NHL news, the Penguins are 1-1-1 for the season. Matt and Steve take a look at the prospects for the Pens' upcoming games. What sort of week in hockey would it be though if the guys didn't touch upon the Penguins' visit to the White House? But, before the conversation goes political, the guys shift gears to head into football updates. Pitt has a bad loss in Syracuse. PSU is still doing well - with Sequan Barkley still in the Heisman hunt. The guys otherwise look at the college game prospects for the next few weeks. Which brings us to this week's Steelers' recap. When the show notes legit have "WTF???" you know it's going to be a great conversation!
As they do, the guys wrap up this week's show with some BOLD predictions about NFL - Week 6.
