When Michael Greger was a child, his grandmother became one of the first people in the country to be cured of severe heart disease by a revolutionary new program that used as it's primary weapon something few scientists or researchers were considering at the time -- food. From nearly dead to walking 10 miles a day in just a few weeks, the treatment gave another 31 years of life to a grandmother of six children. With his foundational understanding of the world shaped around the power of food to heal, it is no wonder that he has become one of the top research and data experts in the world when it comes to nutritional research. Pizzella discusses the issues around GMOs, from lack of research, to problems with sourcing for food stores, restaurants and processed foot products.
